Meet Pastor Sharon

My Story

Rev. Pastor Sharon Kichline was raised in a farming community in northern Missouri. Armed with a BSBA in Finance and Banking from the University of Missouri-Columbia, she served as a commercial lender at Mercantile Trust Company, and later at Landmark Banks. After her first son was born, she took some time away to care for her seriously ill mother. Meanwhile,another son arrived. Feeling a call to ordained ministry, Sharon earned her Master of Divinity at Eden Theological Seminary in Webster Groves.

Pastor Sharon has served for five years at Lafayette Park United Methodist Church, followed by a 2-point charge in Warren County, (Smith Creek UMC and Central Groves UMC) for a year. She was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 2010 and was appointed to serve as lead pastor at Webster United Methodist in Webster Groves from 2011-2024.

Passionate about serving beyond the local church and deeply committed to connecting persons to Christ, Pastor Sharon has led multiple mission teams internationally to Haiti and Mexico, regionally in the Midwest,and locally in the St. Louis urban area. She enjoys Bible study, preaching, and leading small groups.

She continues to live in Webster Groves with her husband,Joel, a retired investment counselor, and a houseful of furry critters. Both sons graduated from Webster Groves High School and are grown and working in the St. Louis area. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, hiking the national park sand reading historical fiction, theology and who-done-its. Post retirement,Pastor Sharon looks forward to getting involved in some serious gardening and is delighted to begin serving Harmonie Church of Wright City, near Innsbrook.
