HARVEST

Harvest Home celebrates the last day of harvest and gives thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest.

The Thanksgiving holiday’s history in North America is rooted in the English traditions dating from the Protestant Reformation.

As President of the United States, George Washington proclaimed the first nationwide Thanksgiving celebration in America making November 26, 1789 “as a public day of thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favours of Almighty God”.

“We give Thee but Thine own, whatever the gift may be.
All that we have is Thine alone, a trust O Lord from Thee.”
